Austin native Whitney Rice knows how functional and organized spaces can truly make your home or office your happy place. She appreciates how our city’s sense of quirky buttoned-upness lives in perfect harmony with the laid-back lifestyle we all know and love. She strives to capture that same spirit in her work.
A proud alum of the Elementary Education program at the University of Texas, Whitney spent over a decade teaching young children. Her career taught her to be organized but flexible, and how to tailor her approach to meet individual needs.
Whitney has been enamored with well-organized spaces since she took it upon herself to color coordinate the hangers in her closet as a kid. She finds a sense of peace in taking spaces from chaotic to composed, loves dark chocolate, everything the color purple, her husband, Trevor, and their floppy-eared Basset Hound, Gus.

Gus is Simplified Austin’s proud mascot. While he is anything but organized, he finds peace knowing that his treats and kibble are stored securely in labeled bins in their pantry, so there’s no room for confusion. His interests include napping, sun bathing, belly rubs and posing for his Instagram account, @the_barleyngusgram.
